Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer

  • Your responsibilities

    • Defining E3 requirement at aircraft and system level.
    • Support to the design for E3 protection compliance, including the definition of electrical wiring EMC segregation, Indirect Lightning Effects protection of critical systems wiring harnesses, HIRF protection of avionic bays.
    • Coordination of the project activities within engineering, production, testing and with suppliers
    • Definition and control of aircraft E3 activities performed by external suppliers
    • Liaise with testing laboratories for HIRF/T-PEDs aircraft testing, Indirect Lightning Effects simulation analysis.
    • Definition and reporting of helicopter compliance tests and analysis for EMC, HIRF and Indirect Lightning Effects.
    • Write and review technical documentation for product development and certification
    • Coordination of systems and helicopter assembly with the production team
    • Prepare and review test documents and support component, ground, and flight test activities
  • Your qualifications

    • Hold a university degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
    • Experience in High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF) certification in accordance with AC20-158A.
    • Experience with Indirect Lightnings Effects (IEL) certification in accordance with AC20-136B.
    • Experience in testing and qualifications of avionics and/or electrical systems against HIRF and Indirect Lightning effects.
    • Relevant engineering experience with avionics, electrical systems design, or similar
    • Experience with coordination of systems development projects
    • Knowledge of aircraft integration standards and certification processes is desirable
    • Good English language skills, both verbal and in writing, a working knowledge of German language will be an advantage
    • Good team player skills, self-driven attitude and the ability to work to fixed deadlines
